Sept. 27, 2021—For the past 20 years, the Best of California Awards ceremony has been a highlight of the California Digital Government Summit—the virtual event that applauds California’s public innovative leaders and projects. This year’s event was no exception.
The awards recognize initiatives in various categories that keep residents safe, improve their online government experiences, and make state IT more efficient and effective. The California Department of Technology was honored to receive a ‘Best of California’ award for its digital vaccine record solution.
Best Application Serving the Public
California Digital COVID-19 Record Portal
This year, CDT received an award for Best Application Serving the Public for its California Digital COVID-19 Vaccine Record Portal that recognized the CDT team that designed, developed and deployed the portal. The CDVR portal provides Californians with an opt-in to receive a digital record of their COVID-19 vaccinations. In just its first 12 days of launch, the CDVR racked up more than 1 million digital records issued.
