November 8, 2021 – Cybersecurity became more important than ever as our world moved online. Cyberattacks have increased as we face a shortage of cybersecurity professionals. That is why we ask you to encourage high school students to register for CyberStart America to motivate the next generation to broaden their career prospects in one of the world’s fastest-growing and most critical industries.
CyberStart America gives free access to an online game that provides a fun, accessible gateway for high school students to explore their cybersecurity skills and learn about the industry and careers. No prior training is needed to participate. Students learn everything they need to know during the game and are eligible to compete for scholarships and cybersecurity training with the National Cyber Scholarship. Plus, CyberStart America can inspire students to expand their career paths—92% of high school participants said they would consider a career in cybersecurity. Last year, California ranked third in the nation for overall registrations in a field of 30,000 participants and second in overall prize winnings. We want to do better this year, and with your help, we will.
