July 13, 2022 – CDT has negotiated new contracts, referred to as CALNET NextGen, which renew and improve nearly all CALNET 3 services while adding new offerings to meet the state’s modern needs. Agencies currently using services that CALNET no longer offers, such as SONET, need to migrate to a replacement offering. All other CALNET customers should transition their existing services from the expiring CALNET 3 contracts to the new CALNET NextGen contracts by June 2023. If you have not yet been contacted, your agency’s CALNET contractor(s) will be reaching out to initiate transition. Once contacted by the contractor, agencies are encouraged to engage in the transition process promptly to ensure they maintain CALNET’s low rates and favorable terms.
