April 15, 2021 – California has come a long way since the first signs of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, we have been looking forward to the day when vaccines would guard us from the virus.

With the appearance of effective vaccines, the state has opened the gates to a flood of relief by administering first and second doses to millions of Californians—and that number continues to grow daily. As of April 15, all Californians 16 years of age and older are eligible for vaccinations.

The MyTurn website debuted on January 19, 2021 with the goal to serve Californians in every part of the state, and as of today, it is on Version 8.0 of continuous improvement muscled forward by never-ending workdays and weekends. The statistics are impressive and a reflection of the dedication of the MyTurn team: within two months 1 million vaccines delivered, within three months 3.1 million vaccines delivered, last week more than 100,000 appointments completed per day, and today the system has a capacity to handle 300,000 transactions per hour. MyTurn serves Californians of every walk of life, and has been instrumental in vaccinating the most at risk and hardest to reach populations. There are 14 languages available to navigate the site to meet the diversity of our state, and it is the front door to vaccine access for all of California.

According to the nation’s leading experts, vaccination is perhaps the most important step to ending the pandemic. Vaccinations against COVID-19 protect you and work to stop the virus before it gets to friends, family, elders, and the people who work hard to keep our communities safe and open.

It’s easy to schedule a vaccination appointment by phone or website, and each person who gets vaccinated brings us that much closer to a post-pandemic world.

Do your part and make a vaccination appointment today at myturn.ca.gov, or call the CA COVID-19 Hotline at 1-833-422-4255.

Let’s all work together to get to immunity.
